Time...

 3 minute read

One thing we cannot do over or bring back, is our time .

It is a resource of great value. How we manage time is a huge indicator of how productive and effective our lives will be.

If we have trouble managing ourselves, we will most likely have trouble managing our time.

Conversely, if we work at managing time, we will improve our self-management. Our life will be less stressful.

Time in itself is a structural thing. It does not bend or move . It is not emotional or flexible. We all have the same amount.

Time is in itself, a boundary.

How we use our time on the other hand is flexible, can be emotional and is in the control of the individual.

Controlling our time well, will involve an awareness of what we value and then allocating time to what we value, according to the order of  importance.

We could say that this structural resource of time that we have been given, is designed to be actively managed. If we do not take control of our time according to what we value, we will have spent this finite resource on things that are of lower value, creating a life that does not satisfy the heart .

It is an exercise in priorities.

Taking some time to evaluate the boundaries of our time, where we draw the lines around it and the quality of life that is being produced is a worthy use of time!

Do I plan ahead or am I late even if I plan? Am I dragged along by life, feeling out of control?

Working with the reality of how long things take and leaving a buffer zone, will help bridge this gap.

Couple that, with an honest assessment of my capacity, habits, beliefs and values, then I will find the necessary humility to bring about change.

So that I can feel that great feeling of being in control of…

                    My time  - My life.
