Keys To The Learning Curve

3 minute read

It’s always delightful to see children engaged in learning, with that wide-eyed eagerness to explore and discover something new.

Learning happens best for anyone in an atmosphere of desire, where there are goals ahead to achieve and reach for, that are do -able and bring something we want .

When parents come alongside their children in a friendship role first of all, it produces a passivity in the children that dulls their vigour of learning, like putting on the handbrake or leaving the engine to idle.

On the other hand, if parents stay in the role of the parent where respect is the underlying mode, before friendship, the children (and the teenagers) become active in their learning about life. The engine stays fuelled and learning moves forward in an upward direction.

This underlying respect is something children need to have built into their lives by loving parents or caregivers.

This foundation of respect for others and especially for parents and teachers, nurtures a culture of learning.

When parents join love and limits together, children thrive and the self - control that comes from that way of life, brings a sense of order and well-being into a family system.

So fuel up your family with a culture of love and respect, staying in the role of the parent, providing appropriate limits with matching consequences, inspiring them to achieve some goals and then reap the rewards of secure happy children…

…who have that wide eyed love of learning for life.
